The brief
Echo View is an exciting tech start-up working in the construction sector, specialising in non-destructive testing of foundation columns. They are the first in their industry to automate cloud-based data storage, processing and report generation fully. I was involved across the breadth of the project, from initial branding to client user interface design and technical report layouts.
The idea
Echo Views’ primary competitors have been in the industry for decades, so it was important to come out swinging with impeccable user interface design for the portal and branding that reflected the innovation of the business. Using the structure of a foundation column, the three overlapping circles are paired with a contrasting weight wordmark allowing for plenty of scope for further creative applications. Using a dark blue and black gradient gives the impression of depth, the idea of drilling down into the dark. Contrasted with the bright blue logo and graphics, it provides a modern and fresh feel, reflecting the cutting-edge technology Echo View is bringing to the construction industry. The portal and website were site-mapped and wireframed in XD, allowing the client to interactively click through the sites to experience how the user would use the services. From here, the graphics and visual identity were applied. Echo View’ vibrant and modern branding provided them with the authority they needed to be taken seriously in an industry resistant to change.
